I learned a lot about hunting and fishing from my dad he was one of the best turkey hunters I have ever hunted with. I can remember our last hunt like it was yesterday. 4 jakes came in and were almost in his lap. He never fired a shot claimed he could not get the hammer back. As he got older he just wanted to hear the birds and see them he didn't care if he ever took another turkey. He always wanted to take a black bear and a few years ago he had his chance, this big old bear came down towards his stand he got the bear in the scope and safety off and ask himself what do I do with it once I shot it? He let him walk away he never got a bear physically but in his mind he knew he could have taken that bear at anytime. I will miss him very much as the hunting seasons change but I will always have the memories from my first deer to the last turkey we took together and for sure the last deer he took. Dad we really miss you.
